- Declared publicly that she supports her husband and her religion
- Sumayyah was one of "the first seven" to display Islam
- First martyr of Islam
-Was kidnapped and tortured while given the chance to renounce her new faith in Islam and reject the Prophet Muhammad
-She refused to do so and was murdered for her belief in Islam
- Passed away in 615 AD
