1 Jan 1930 Jahr - 10. Hindenburg invokes Article 48
Beschreibung:
President Hindenburg invokes Article 48, which grants the President the power to act without the consent of Parliament. This sets the precedent for future chancellors like Brüning and Hitler to abuse these emergency powers. This leads to political friction between the chancellor and the Reichstag, making the Weimar government more and more disliked. Germans lost confidence in the Weimar government and were forced into choosing between communists and socialists on the left and the NSDAP and other extreme groups on the right.
