On January 27th 1973 the US signed a cease fire ending US military presence. This was the End of Vietnam war for the US. The US had lost its first war, but there was truly no winning. The last troops left in March of 1973. The war costed the US- 58,000 lives, 300,000 wounded, 150 Billion Dollars.
