2. Alongside that, White settlers also wanted the land for farming
Politically
1. American Indians 'could not' maintain independency from the U.S. government.
Socially
1. Whites considered American Indians 'uncivilized'.
Worcester v Georgia:
Chief Justice John Marshall ruled in favor of the Cherokees, but Jackson refused to acknowledge the Court's decision and said "John Marshall has made his decision, now let him enforce it."
