1 Jan 928 Jahr v. Chr. - The Kingdom Split into Two: Israel and Judah
Beschreibung:
What had been a fragile union under Solomon, split into the Northern Kingdom of Israel, and the Southern Kingdom of Judah after Solomon's death. One of the main reasons for the split was the unequal treatment on taxes and labor against the North.
While the Northern Kingdom of Israel moved its capital to Penuel, and then to Samaria, The Souther Kingdom maintained its capital in Jerusalem.
Much of the preceding narrative was written from the perspective of Southern Judah, claiming that the impending fall of the Northern Kingdom as a result of its insistence in worshiping other gods despite multiple prophetic warnings. The eventual fall of the Southern Kingdom was also attributed to unfaithfulness to Yahweh.
