Nvidia’s first product, the NV1 of 1996, crashed and burned. As a joint venture between the young company and Sega. Nvidia quickly learned from its initial stumbling block and moved on with the Riva 128, which “ditched the quads, the audio,and the Sega ties, yet didn’t fare much better initially. When Nvidia rolled out upgraded drivers, however, the card climbed the charts. Its 3D performance wasn’t up to Voodoo standards, but it was snappy enough for many people."
