In the mostly abandoned and plague-ridden city of Calimport, skirmishes escalate between the invading clergy of Talona and the remaining clergy of Shar of the Basilica of Night. In Eleint, the Talonites capture the Basilica, but the Sharrans bring it down upon their enemies. They relocate their treasures and relics to a new temple, the Temple of Old Night.
