Hank McCoy, conducting gene therapy research for he and Moira MacTaggart into MAH accidently sets off a secondary stage of mutation within his genes, causing him to grow blue hair all over his body. While personally traumatic, he and MacTaggart publish on the discovery of secondary mutations, gaining both wide praise. They also popularize the phrase Genetically Gifted as the scientific nomenclature for "mutants".
