Meredith Quill is killed and Peter Quill is abducted by Spartoi sent by his father, Unperor Json. The Spartoi craft is attacked by Badoon and crash lands on Asterion. There he is discovered by the Starjammers: Captain Kalyx, Korvus Rook'shir, Ch'od, Dr. Sikorsky, Hepzibah, and Raza. With nothing left for him on Earth, he pleads to stay as their cabin boy, so he can travel the stars.
