The original inventor is Samuel Morse but is actually a mix of many inventors but Samuel Morse contributed the most for this discovery. This is also how the famous communication known as " Morse Code" came to be because this the code that they had to learn in order to be able to use the telegraph. In order to use it was that their was a dispatcher at the end who asks who to dispatch you too and you communicate to the person through the dispatch.
