ok so around this time, the caverian elite is like 'this is nice but we want to be nobility again' (it's probably more complicated than that, like the population constantly rebelling and wanting to return to the good old days) so they start trying to replace the caveres, but the poor people don't want that
so the elite (calling themselves helanists, after queen helaine) enlist the help of the caledoans (nice twist of fate there), and since the atkins have proven cavere blood, they're in the lead for king of caveria so they decide to help
on the other side is the darians (named after darius (later the shadow king) who fought against tyranny way back when in varos) who fight for democracy (granted, they haven't thought this through, they just want more freedom for freedom's sake with no regard to how u lead a country or diplomacy or anything
i mean
freedom is valid
but they haven't thought further than the bridge, they have no idea what the hell they're gonna do once they burn it
