Beschreibung:

This event happened when Missouri wanted to enter the U.S as a slave state. There was a argument due to people wanting to spread slavery and people who wanted to abolish it. South Carolina believed in popular sovereignty which want they thought the state should decide what it should become. The U.S government made a compromise called the Missouri Compromise which said that if Missouri becomes a slave state that Maine must become a free state. (Just to keep balance in government)
