Days earlier, Gabi's parents, Santiago and Natalia, asked Zinhle, a close Druid friend of theirs, to examine the pasts of their children, Lio and Gabi. Zinhle returns with news that Lio is to be a shoemaker, a fate she can easily change, but Gabi is to betray Black Magic and become a supposed "cursed spirit-lover". She is unable to alter Gabi's fate, for it has already been written in a prophecy.
