At dawn, U.S. soldiers began gathering dead soldiers to evacuate. This task ended up taking two days as the American and NVA bodies were scattered all over the battlefield.

After 5 long days of battle, the Battle of Ia Drang ended as a draw, with the Americans and Vietmese taking one victory each.
