The bombing of Pearl Harbor was a surprise military operation by the imperial Japanese navy air service. It was against the US naval base at peal harbor. The strike was designed as a deterrent to keep the US Pacific Fleet from medaling with their planned military actions. Which was in Southeast Asia against British, Dutch, and US foreign territories.
