BANJA LUKA (Bosnia and Herzegovina), November 7 (SeeNews) – JP Autoputevi RS, the state-owned motorway operator of Bosnia's Serb Republic, has announced the signing of a deal with Chinese company Power China – Sinohydro for the construction of the Banja Luka-Mlinista motorway section.

The deal was signed on the sidelines of the summit of the heads of the government of China and 16 central and eastern European (CEE) countries, or the 16+1 Summit, held over the weekend in Latvia's capital Riga.

The deal should speed up the approval of a loan by China’s Ex-Im Bank to finance the works on the 62 km Glamocani and Put Avnoj section, the first arm of the Banja Luka–Mliniste motorway, Autoputevi RS said in a statement over the weekend. It gave no financial details.

The total length of the Banja Luka-Mlinista motorway is 93 km.

Sinohydro signed in December 2014 a preliminary agreement with JP Autoputevi RS on the design and construction of the motorway.
