1. Hitler used his power to purge the police of non-Nazis and also to establish an auxiliary police force
2. He convinced Hindenburg to issue a decree that gave the government emergency powers and it suspended all rights for citizens allowing Nazis to arrest and imprison anyone
3.HItler and the Nazis had established the foundation for a totalitarian state since the all the political parties had been abolished and only the Nazis were left
