To the Editor of The New York Times: I note the article on Poland in THE NEW YORK TIMES, over the initials "H.C." It was accompanied by a map, the caption of which read "The Area in Light Shading Is the Old Russian Poland; Areas in Heavy Shading Show Territories Acquired After the World War."
