A war in the Middle East that causes nuclear fallout - all nations in the area other than Egypt, Syria, and Israel are reduced to glass-like fields, the surviving countries heavily damaged. By 2077, this is referred to as the "Suicide War", and cause annual radioactive sandstorms in the ruins of Syria, Iraq, and Iran that dropped irradiated dust onto Turkey, the Mediterranean, and Europe.
