1 Jan 1999 Jahr - Introduction of checklists
to surgical theaters
Beschreibung:
A research paper published in the New England Journal of Medicine looked at about 7,500 patents at hospitals around the world, and found that when surgical teams followed a procedural checklist, death rates among the patients dropped from 1.5% down to 0.8% after the checklists were implemented, and serious complications fell from 11% down to 7%. While this single study could be an outlier, it does suggest that employing a simple human factor technique of implementing a checklist can have a dramatic result in the quality of life for patents.
