With the increase proliferation of the personal computer, educational systems starting adopting computers in schools at all levels of public education. By this year 40 percent of elementary schools and 75 percent of middle schools were using computers for instruction. However, in the first two decades of their use, computers were not used in innovative ways and did not make a big impact in instructional design.
