after suffering years of abuse, james kills his father and brothers and ascends to the throne
he's a surprisingly good king despite circumstances, but he has a creepy af mother
he conquers a bunch of caveria as well as their salt mines in the north (which, to this day, is still within caledoan borders and it's one of their primary exports in modern times)
he also lessened the oppression of the highlanders and accepted a bunch of refugees and immigrants
granded, a bunch of them were loaded off to the mines to work, but he made sure they had sturdy homes and proper food, as well as average pay and education for their children (and themselves, if they wanted it)
he believed (and rightfully so) that education was the key to prosperity
there's a bit of a golden age with art and science and stuff
who knows
maybe that ten yo deserved to die for the greater good :)
