During the 2020 NBA season, NBA teams united to protest racial inequality and police brutality. In response to the deaths of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, NBA teams decided to include social Justice messages on the back of their jerseys, instead of the players’ names. Locally, a favorite player on the Utah Jazz--Donovan Mitchell, put “Say Her Name” on the back of his jersey in support of Breonna Taylor, a woman who was killed by police while asleep at her own home.
