Why - they had to raise awareness, as this was a blatant mistreating of Canada's indigenous population, and the number of unsolved disappearances is insane

Historical Significance
This just shows that indigenous people are still prejudiced against and being killed or kidnapped. The fact that it was finally looked into by police is a way to show that we care about them, and they aren't being ignored.
