25 Jun 1876 Jahr - Battle of Little Bighorn
Beschreibung:
When gold was discovered by Americans on Lakota Sioux reservation land in the Black Hills of the Dakotas, treaties flew out the window and the U.S. government ordered a move of the Sioux onto reservations. When they refused, General George Custer led 600 men to confront Sitting Bull, Crazy Horse, and the Sioux. The Sioux had over 3,00 troops, a force the Americans weren't expecting. on June 25, Sitting Bull led women and children to safety while a battle ensued behind them, deemed Custer's Last Stand. The U.S. forces were stopped, but this loss only fueled a stronger push against the Lakota Souix, who were moved onto reservations in the following years.
