Roger Williams was a Puritan who lived in the Bay area, he was a minister that believed in conflicting ideas against the church therefore he was exiled. Accompanied by a few followers he moved south where he established a more religiously tolerant society which allowed Jews, Catholics, and Quakers to live under the same jurisdiction.
