14 Aug 1941 Jahr - The Lend Lease Agreement
Beschreibung:
In march 1941, the US congress passed the Lend Lease Act. Where the US provided to transfer the American War Materials to Britain and its allies in exchange for theoretical deferred payment. Since Canada's involvement WWII caused serious imbalance in the payments to the US, the lend lease Act threatened to divert the british war orders from Canada to the United States. Canada manufactured American produced components of war material for Britain, and were included in the Lend Lease plan. A plan where Canada's trade deficit was alleviated and it was easier for Canada to fill Britain orders. It highly helped the war efforts of Britain and other Allied powers and also benefited Canada indirectly.
