Christopher Columbus never landed in America, but he left for Spain on August 3, 1492. He left with only 3 small ships which were named Santa Maria, Pita, and the Nina. Finally, on October, 12 the boats reached land which happened to be the Bahamas, and then Cuba and Hispaniola. In Hispaniola he created a small colony. Soon, he went back to Spain with gold, spices and captives. Columbus was very well known in Europe for what he has done, although he treated people horribly, no one knew that.
