In Cuba, US spy planes spotted Soviet Union missile pads. Thought nuclear war would break out between the USSR and the US. Cuba is only 90 miles away from Florida and that was the main reason that it raised concerns because a missile could make it to Omaha in 15 minutes. Kennedy agreed to never invade Cuba and dismantle missiles in Turkey, while Khrushchev agreed to dismantle missiles in Cuba and allow UN inspection in Cuba. This created more tension in the Cold War.
