23 Sept 2014 Jahr - UN security council threatens to attack Syria if they don’t get rid of their chemical weapons. Syria agrees and in October they got rid of their chemical weapons by signing up for the Chemical Weapons Convention. THis stops chemical weapons from being used, produced or stockpiled.
