17 Mai 1954 Jahr - Brown vs. Board of Education Passed
Beschreibung:
Beginning on the 9th of December, 1954, the case of Brown v board of education brought up that the seperate but equal doctrine was unconstitutional, and overturned segregation laws. In the case, Oliver Brown claimed that the denial of his daughter to an all white school in Kansas was a violation of the 14th amendment, and furthermore, said that black schools were not indeed equal as the doctrine would suggest. Although this did lead to the integration of schools, it did not reverse all Jim Crow laws or their effects on the black community.
