1 Jan 1859 Jahr - "Lead-Acid Battery" - 1859 AD
Beschreibung:
This battery was the first rechargeable battery in history. Passing a reverse current through the battery, the battery was able to be charged for future uses. It is composed of a lead anode and a lead dioxide cathode immersed in sulfuric acid created by Gaston Planté. This battery was bulkier and heavier than previous batteries and was able to power multiple currents. The Lead-Acid Battery is still used today where weight does not matter such as in machines like cars. The pictures attached show a diagram of Planté's lead-acid battery and the second picture shows a cross-section of a modern car battery and shows how the technology of the battery has changed over time.
