During the early 1890's, the Pinkertons boasted a force of 2,000 active operatives and some 30,000 reserve officers. The agency was formed in 1850 by Allan Pinkerton, and were considered a private U.S. guard and detective agency/ private military and were often used as strike breakers, and are currently a subsidiary of Securitas AB.
