1 Jan 1897 Jahr - J.J Thomson
Beschreibung:
Thomson created a model called the plum pudding model in 1897. He called it this because he believed, unlike Dalton, that there was a negative charge(electrons) randomly distributed within an atom. Tomson went on to prove this theory by using a cathode ray tube which showed a negative charge present in the atoms, however, at this point he did not recognize that there was a positive charge. The plum pudding model contradicts what John Dalton stated years earlier because JJ Thomson suggested a negative energy was present while Dalton only theoreticized that an atom was made of only a single structure.
