22 Jul 1661 Jahr - Louis XIV (1661)
Beschreibung:
Louis XIV was the most influential ruler in Europe during the 17th century, bringing order to France through his massive bureaucratic administration, and bringing war to Europe because of his immense power and ambitions. Once he assumed his role as the lead minister of France in 1661, he began a journey that would make France the preeminent nation of Europe, the model of monarchy, the apex of modern art and literature, and a formidable military power. Louis is more important than any of his ministers, such as Jean-Baptiste Colbert, because he was the Roi-Bureacrate, willing to remove any ministers failing at their duty or unloyal to himself and he was the lead minister, and even though Colbert did achieve much for France, its finances, navy, and infrastructure, ultimately Louis had the final say. (Palmer 146 and Roi-Bureaucrate)
