Benito felt as if Hitler was one-upping him, so he decided he wanted to get more land. He sent Albania an ultimatum stating that they should surrender to Italian power or get attacked. Albanian resistance was ineffective and King Zog and Queen Geraldine Apponyi fled and Italy gained Albania.
