1 Feb 1958 Jahr - China’s Great Leap Forward (and Great Famine)

In 1958 after Mao had come into power, he introduced the great leap forward. This mostly focused on agricultural development which would help improve industrial development. During the leap forward, harmful farming techniques such as deep plowing and the war on sparrows were implimented, eventually leading to a famine. Today, Chinese refer to this time as three years of difficulties.
