On December 28, after failing to meet a deadline for the 2021-22 budget, Israel’s government collapsed. The country will now face its fourth election in the last two years, which is expected to begin in March. The last three elections were inconclusive, and with the pandemic causing much stress, Netanyahu and Gantz agreed to join forces as a coalition government.
