U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo spoke at a press conference about Hong Kong, saying he has been appointed as the new director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Hong Kong, and that he hoped Hong Kong will get back on track. Pompeo said the "right track" is the Chinese Communist Party's fulfillment of its commitment in the Sino-British Joint Declaration to the independent rule of law in Hong Kong and the freedom that is denied to the Chinese in mainland China.
