19 Sept 40 Jahr v. Chr. - Land Division among the Triumvirate
Beschreibung:
The lands of Rome were divided among the three men for proper administration. Antony was given control of much of the eastern lands of Rome including Macedonia, Greek Islands, Crete, Cyprus, Anatolia, and Syrian Lands. Octavian was given Hispania, Gaul, and Northern present-day Italy and control of Rome. The triumvirate jointly ruled Italy and Egypt. Lepidus began to fade into the background slightly and was given practically no land except some in northern Africa. They did this because he was supposedly suspected of working with Sextus Pompey. This was confirmed by the Treaty of Brundisium.
