7 März 1810 Jahr - Alexander Hamilton coeditor of the Federalist Papers initiated the party system. To gain congressional support he needed votes. The main goal of each party was to destroy the other. The Democratic-Republicans (Jeffersonians) crushed the Federalist and was led by Jefferson, Madison and Monroe. Later, the Jeffersonian coalition also dwindled due to factionalism.
