After the war, the British took control of Palestine, and there was conflict between the Jews and the Arabs there, and they decided to split it into 2 separate states, and after many controversy, countries started to recognize Israel as a country.
Importance: It showed how the Jews finally were recognised as a seperate people and state, and that has lead to many controveries and threats today.
