The Battle of Bull Run was a relatively short battle that lasted all day near Manassas, Virginia. It lasted for hours and it was a battle with two opposing experienced generals. The Union General did worse and the Confederates won the first major battle of the civil war. This was the battle that Jackson gave himself the nickname "stone wall".
