- After Emperor Hirohito advised the Japan surrender, Japanese representatives signed their names on the Instrument of Surrender
- After this day, the war in the Pacific came to an end. The Allies were victorious against Japan and ended the bloody conflict. The Allies now focused on rebuilding the war-torn world.
