The conflict began as a struggle over land between the Palestinian Arabs and Israeli. From the end of World War I until 1948, the area that both groups claimed was known as Palestine. This is important for us to know because it created problems between Arabs and Israeli. These problems are still happening between Arabs and Israeli.
