"The first American Dietetic Association legislative workshop was held at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, DC.

This was a precursor to today's Public Policy Workshop that is held in Washington, D.C. The program was designed to inform members about current legislation with an impact on health, nutrition, or food and to develop skills in influencing legislation."
