Cossack punitive troops were soon called in to quell the uprisings in Aqsu, Avat and other neighbouring villages. (Note to self - The previous day) As a result of clashes between Cossacks and local inhabitants, twelve people were killed at the Qaiqa Pass,65 which put an end to the uprising in Aqsu-Charyn volost’.
