Tom Geisbert takes more pictures of the filoviruses under the electron microscope this time showing their replication within the monkey cells. Peter Jahrling alerts Dan Dalgard that Marburg could be involved in the infection of the monkeys. Jahrling performs a glow test of the samples of Monkey 053’s spleen twice and identifies it as closely related to Ebola Zaire. Jahrling reports his findings to C.J. Peters and the pair report to the commander of USAMRIID David Huxsoll they then alert Major General Philip K. Russell and Nancy Jaax. A crisis meeting is put together and Fred Murphy of the C.D.C. is also contacted. Dan Dalgard is informed that Ebola could be killing the monkeys in Reston.
