Thirteen media organizations and institutions, including the Hong Kong Journalists Association, and the Dean of the School of Journalism and Communication of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Francis Lee, co-signed a petition opposing the amendment bill, fearing that the amendments would have a chilling effect and threaten the personal safety of journalists.
