Beschreibung:
Indiana's ESSA Consolidated Plan replaced NO Child Left Behind (NCLB). The plan states the following for ILearn: (a) it will be offered in Spanish for the mathematics and science portions, (b) allows the use of bilingual dictionaries by Limited English Proficient (LEP) students, and (c) recommends translating ILearn into Spanish, Burmese, Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, and Vietnamese by the 2018-2019 school year. The plan also states the following for Title III: (a) schools can use the WIDA Access Placement Test (W-APT) if a student's family marks a language other than English on the Home Language Survey, (b) if a student scores less than a 5 on the W-APT then they should be labeled an English learner, (c) if a student scores a 5-6 on the W-APT then they should be monitored, and (d) sets a long-term state goal of having 63% of EL students attain English language proficiency within 6 years.
